About the inventor: H. Eugene Bassett

The inventor (H. Eugene Bassett), now semi-retired, has nearly 40 years compressor design and application experience. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and Texas.

He started in 1960 as a draftsman with the Cooper Bessemer Corporation (currently known as Cooper Industries) in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was promoted to position of Manager of Compressor Valve Design in 1976 where he remained until 1982.

In 1982 he joined Teton Corporation as Corporate Manager of Engineering. While with Teton, he studied the dynamics and thermodynamics of a variety of compressors of several different manufacturers. These studies led him to the design of the "Articulated Displacer" Compressor as the ultimate in gas compression and transmission. In 1985, Teton Corporation sold one of it's divisions (Manley Valve) to Dover Corporation. Mr. Bassett elected to go with Manley Valve (in the move to Dover) as Manager of Engineering, a position he held until going into "semi-retirement" in 1996.

He currently has two other patents to his name:

1) A unique cartridge type, fuel injection valve (for two cycle engines) utilizing a nitrogen buffer system to prevent leakage of natural gas by the seals thus preventing explosion.
